Clocking In and Out (Web and Mobile)

Purpose

Record your work time in the browser or the UZIO mobile app: clocking in and out, taking breaks, and keeping your timesheet accurate before it reaches payroll. If you punch on a shared tablet at your worksite instead, see Using the Time Kiosk.

Who can do this: Any employee your employer has added to time tracking. If the Time Tracking tab says "Time Tracking is not enabled. Time tracking is not enabled for you by your employer.", you have not been added yet. That is an employer-side setting, so ask your HR team or your manager.

Clock in

Web: home page, then the Time Tracking tile. Mobile: the time tracking page.

  1. Check the Shift. UZIO preselects the shift you are currently inside, or else the next one today. If no shift is assigned today, the shift selector is hidden. If you are working outside your schedule, choose Unscheduled, unless your employer restricts that.
  2. Check the Job. If your shift has a designated job, UZIO preselects it and the job selector is disabled; on mobile the job screen is skipped. Otherwise pick from the jobs assigned to you.
  3. Tap Clock In. A running timer shows your elapsed time. Use Add Notes at any point to attach context such as a task, a location or an exception, which your manager can read.

Note: Your employer may restrict how early you can clock in relative to your shift start, and may block a punch when no published shift exists. If you are blocked, that is usually why. See Viewing Your Schedule.

Breaks

  1. While clocked in, tap Start Break on the web or Break Time on mobile. If only one break type applies to you it starts immediately; if several apply, such as Paid Rest and Unpaid Meal, you get a picker.
  2. A break timer runs while you are out. Add Notes attaches context to the entry.
  3. End the break in one of two ways. Return to paid work time on the same entry, using the button that ends the break and resumes work. Or use Clock Out, which ends both the break and the shift.

Your employer's break rules apply automatically. Starting or ending a break early may be blocked, breaks may auto-end at their scheduled length, and short or long breaks are flagged. If break attestation is on and you missed a break window, you are asked at clock-out to say why. Answer accurately. The answer is recorded and can drive premium pay.

Your timesheet

Web: the Time Tracking tile, then the Timesheet tab. Mobile: the top-right action menu, or My Timesheet in the hamburger menu. Pick the Pay Period; totals update automatically.

Actions per time entry, with availability depending on your employer's settings:

ActionNotes
Add Time EntryManually, by clock in and out times or by duration
EditAdjust time, job or shift, breaks, or duration
DeleteA reason may be mandatory, per your employer's settings
Clock OutOnly on a running entry
Add NotesWithout editing the entry
HistoryThe full audit: who changed what, when, from which source, and the old and new values
AttestConfirm the entry is accurate. Attest All at the top covers the whole pay period
Check PhotoView kiosk photos attached to the entry

Note — there is no submit button. Your timesheet reaches payroll through attestation, if your company requires it, and your manager's or employer's approval. Once your hours are approved, your own edits lock. Once the period is synced to payroll, everything locks. Fix mistakes before approval rather than after.

If your employer restricts edits to recent entries

Some employers switch on a retroactive-edit restriction. Where it is on, an entry older than the number of days your employer set cannot be added, edited or deleted on the timesheet, and you see:

"This action cannot be performed because the time entry is older than 30 days."

The number in the message is your employer's setting, not a fixed product rule. Where the restriction is off, older entries stay editable subject to the approval and payroll locks above. If you need a correction outside the window, it becomes a payroll adjustment handled by your HR or payroll team.

DSP note: For Delivery Service Partner accounts the retroactive-edit restriction is switched on by default, with a 30-day threshold, so expect this block on older entries.

If your manager or employer edits your entry

Your manager, and anyone at your employer with permission to manage timesheets, can add, edit or delete your entries and can correct a missed punch on your behalf. Every one of those changes is written to the entry's History with the person, the time, the source and the old and new values, so you can always see what moved and who moved it. If a change does not look right, raise it with your manager before the pay period is approved.

Offline punches and punch photos

If your employer uses them, the mobile app can capture a punch while your device has no connection and sync it when the connection returns, and a punch can carry a photo and a location check. A punch captured offline is not visible to your manager until it syncs, so a missing entry right after a dead-zone shift is usually a sync delay rather than a lost punch. See Time Tracking in Offline Mode.
